A festive night will be organised in Hanoi's Old Quarter on October 1 to mark the 50th anniversary of the capital city's liberation from the French occupation (October 10).
The festive night will include a ceremony to present the title of national historical relics for the Old Quarter and the inauguration of pedestrian only streets and art performances.
Chairman of the Hoan Kiem district's People's Committee Hoang Cong Khoi said Hoan Kiem district will also put into operation mobile stalls in the middle of pedestrian streets, including Hang Dao, Hang Duong, Hang Ngang and Dong Xuan.
Mobile stalls and other commercial and tourist activities will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening from 8pm to 12pm in summer and from 7pm to 12pm in winter.
Visitors to these streets will have to leave their vehicles in neighbouring areas.
