Construction of Vietnam's largest cultural centre named ‘Kinh Bac’ (northern city) will start in the first quarter of next year in the northern province of Bac Ninh, the home of ‘quan ho’ (love duet) folk songs.
The project will be built on an area of 10.6 ha in Vu Ninh ward, Bac Ninh township, at an estimated cost of VND 180 billion ( US $ 11.25 million).
Shape as a flat palm hat with fringes and pagodas, the centre will include halls for art performances, meetings and seminars, and showrooms.
Nguyen Trong Khang, an official of the Architecture Research Institute under the Construction Ministry, said the centre, located at the town's political and cultural centre, will be a focal point for surrounding architecture projects. (VNA)
