The Hanoi Conservatory has recently made available Vietnam’s biggest electronic music library for students to access online reference resources for their research and studies.
Eligible users can now explore a huge music database that includes 40,000 digitalised books and reference documents as well as 4,000 various CDs, VCDs and DVDs.
According to Dr Tran Thu Ha, a senior lecturer from the Hanoi Conservatory, the project to build the electronic music library was carried out from 1999 to 2004.
An internal e-library was set up with 20 computers connected to two powerful servers to enable high-speed access into the huge library with the management of an administrative software.
Bui Thi Hoa, deputy director of the Hanoi Conservatory’s Library, said the whole electronic music library would be published on a web site in the near future.
