The seventh fine arts exhibition of the northern central region was opened on August 26 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Thua Thien - Hue province.
On display are 155 paintings, graphic and sculpturing works of 125 artists. Of these, 63 works are of 48 artists who are members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and 92 works belong to 77 artists who are members of the local art associations of provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue.
'A' prize together with VND 6 million has been awarded to the oil painting 'Phu Sa' (Alluvium) of Le Van Nhuong of Thua Thien Hue. Another oil painting named 'Cay Sang Trang' (Transplanting Rice by Moonlight) of Tieu Cao Son of Nghe An province has won the 'B' prize and VND 4.5 million. The 'C' prize and VND 3 million has been awarded to Ho Thiet Trinh also of Nghe An province with his woodcut 'Nguoi Dom Do' (Fish Trapper).
The exhibition opens until September 10.
