The fine arts exhibition named 'Dien Bien Phu Battle in the Air' was opened in Hanoi in mid December to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the glorious victory of the people and men of the armed forces of Hanoi in their fight against US B52 bombers.
107 works of art, including 83 paintings and graphic works together with 24 sculptural works from 94 artists nationwide are on display at the exhibition to show the fine examples of the strength of the artists in and outside the army.
Most of the works have been created recently through field visits, therefore, they bear the inspiration of today's time with newer graphic language.
The title of the exhibition itself expressed that it was a practical activity from fine arts artists together with the people nationwide to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the event and the 51st anniversary of the traditional day of the fine arts circle (December 10, 1951).
Many of the works were paid careful attention in both size and materials, many artists seek a new tendency of expression, make full use of the event with new thoughts and feelings, therefore, the show is abundant with magnificently beautiful works of art.
The works feature the co-ordination in the fight against the enemy in the air among anti-aircraft and the air forces and the people's armed forces who, with a mighty courageous spirit, won the victory over a strong enemy.
The exhibition was held by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Anti-Aircraft and Air Force Command and the Army's Museum.
