The Vietnam Drama Theatre held a ceremony in Hanoi on December 26 to celebrate its 50th anniversary and to receive the Independence Order, second class.
Actor of Merit Do Doan Chau, director of the theatre, read a report, reviewing the theatre's contributions to the country's art development. He also pledged to improve the revolutionary drama activities in service of people.
Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem praised the significant achievements of the theatre in the past. He expressed his belief that the staff of the theatre would endeavour better for the cause of national industrialisation and modernisation.
Present at the anniversary were representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Party's Commission for Ideology and Culture, art associations and troupes.
