Hanoi-based Vietnam Museum of Ethnology will hold many cultural activities to celebrate the lunar New Year on February 4 until 9.
The activities are expected to include folk games normally played on New Year’s holidays such as ‘con’ throw, bamboo pole dances and gastronomy of the Thai ethnic minority people; ‘pao’ throw of the Muong ethnic minority people, ‘khen’ dance of the Mong ethnic minorities and water puppetry. Many customs of Co, Ba Na and Thia ethnic minority people will also be introduced.
More than 100 representatives of residential groups from northern provinces of Lang Son, Son La, Hoa Binh, Hanoi, Haiphong, Hai Duong and Hung Yen will join the event and introduce their New Year cultures.
