A presenter of China’s Radio, Yu Jianchao has won the first prize in a competition on writing about Thang Long-Hanoi, which was launched on the Internet to mark the city’s 1,000th anniversary in 2010.
Two second prizes went to Gianfranco Poleranio, Chairman of the Milano International Language Association of Italy, and Reza Kheir-Khar of Taiwan; and three third prizes to competitors from China, Italy and Japan.
The competition on writing about Hanoi in Esperanto language received 105 entries from 29 countries and territories. Questions focused on themes relating to all historical periods of Hanoi and the country. Last year's five questions were about the Tran Dynasty in the 13-14th centuries. This year's questions will be about history and culture of the Le Dynasty during the 15-18th centuries.
