More than 400 artefacts selected from museums nationwide will be put on display in Austria from September 2003 until January 2004 and in Belgium from May until October 2004.
The 'Vietnam - Past and Present' exhibition will be jointly organised by the Historical Museum of Vienna and the Brussels Royal Museum of Art and History.
Among the artefacts are Champa cultural art works of the 12th century, namely the Mahisamardini Goddess and Brahma God reliefs, which are currently kept at central Binh Dinh province's museum.
The picture of Mahisamardini Goddess, discovered in Binh Nghi commune in Tay Son district, was carved in a 1.27m-high and 1.15m-wide leaf-shaped stone, while the Brahma God, found in Duong Long tower in Tay Son district, was carved in a 1.3m-high and 0.85m-wide leaf-shaped stone. (VNA)
