A wooden Buddha statue, believed to date back to the Phu Nam Kingdom some 1,500 years ago, has been discovered in the Plain of Reeds of southern Dong Thap province.
The statue, 1.32 m high, 38cm wide and 28cm thick placed on a square wooden board. It looks similar to a number of other statues unearthed previously at the site but with some sculpture details incomplete. The similarity between this statue and the other ones found earlier prove the statue's age.
