Ha Noi, Jan. 15 (VNA)-A data bank on Viet Nam's folk music and traditional performing arts was officially put into operation on Thursday as a move to preserve the cultural value and national character.
Designed by the Musical Research Institute, the bank is considered to be of regional calibre, an official of the institute said, adding that the bank will be advertised worldwide in the near future.
The cultural bank comprises of three parts. The first part features folk music and traditional performing arts. The second part is a wide selection of tapes and compact discs, recording sounds and images of art performances. The third is an assemblage of documents, video footages and photographs of Viet Nam's traditional music and performing arts. All documents were written in both Vietnamese and English.-Enditem
