Trans-Asia Festival opens weekend (July 22, 2004)


Various cultural and sporting events will be held during the festival.
VietNamNet - The central province of Quang Tri is gearing up for the Trans-Asia Festival, which will run from July 25-28.

According to the organisers, delegations from Savanakhet and Champasak provinces in Laos, Nakhon Phanom and Khonken provinces in Thailand, and a few provinces Myanmar and China have registered for the event.

Various cultural and sporting events will be held during the festival, including processions, folk art performance, sporting events, the “Quang Tri – junction of Central Region heritage sites” photo exhibition, food festival and tours. In addition, a fair with 130 stalls operated by domestic and foreign firms will be on hand.

The festival is part of the “Central Region heritage road” tourism programme, which offers culture and tourism exchange and cooperation between Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and several other regional countries
