Various cultural and art activities will take place during the Vietnamese Cultural Day in Sweden to be held on November 8.
Activities will be organised at the Blue Hall of Stockholm where is the venue for the annual Nobel Prize presentation ceremony.
Prominent among the guests at the event will be members of the Swedish Royal Family, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan and former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh.
After the traditional music performance and royal dances by Truc Vang (Golden Bamboo) band, the Vietnamese French guitarist Nguyen Le, dancers from Bong Sen (Lotus) troupe, three pop stars Cam Van, Hong Nhung and My Linh will perform modern songs. Vietnamese traditional dress (ao dai) and costumes of Vietnamese ethnic minority groups will also be introduced to foreigners through collections by designers Si Hoang and Ngan An.
Ulrika Sandstrom, a famous designer of Sweden, in co-ordination with designer Si Hoang, will also introduce an Asian- European styled fashion collection.
Also on the occasion, an auction of 25 paintings of Vietnamese renowned painters will be organised to raise fund for Vietnamese talented children. Twenty nine portraits of Nobel women prize winners by Vietnamese late famous painter Choe will also be on show.
Vietnamese food will also be available for visitors to taste with 30 special dishes.
The day is held under the joint sponsorship of the Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and sponsorship from Comvik International Vietnam AB.
