Paintings on War Invalids and Martyrsí Day exhibited

A painting exhibition on war invalids, martyrs and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers was opened in Hanoi on July 25 by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Army Museum.

This is to mark the 55th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrsí Day, July 27. The opening ceremony saw attendance of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers from Binh Dinh province and veteran painters of Hanoi.

The exhibition features 86 paintings and sculptures recently created by more than 60 painters who are mainly members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association after their field visits to Nursing Homes for wounded soldiers in Thuan Thanh (Bac Ninh province) and Duy Tien (Ha Nam province). The artistic works portray mothers, heroes and wounded soldiers in different aspects, showing their great sacrifice and contribution to the country and warm sentiment of the community given to them.

The exhibition will open until August 10.
