Hanoi to hold International Tourism Festival in April (February 27, 2005)

An International Tourism Festival will be held in Hanoi in order to promote the city’s smokeless industry form Mar. 1 to May 1, according to Hanoi’s Department of Tourism.

The event will feature the participation of many tourist companies from major centers around Asia, and would be a good opportunities for tour operators to exchange and develop tours to Hanoi.

The festival, themed “Friendship Bridge” would be held near Hoan Kiem Lake, Bach Thao Park and Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam (the ever first ancient University in Vietnam).

In addition, an international cuisine exhibition will also take place as part of the festival, along with plant and flower arrangement, and traditional Vietnamese art shows for international visitors.

The Hanoi International Tourism Festival is traditionally held every two years. According to organizers, there were 500,000 domestic and foreign visitors who joined the 2003 festival.
