An exhibition on Vietnam and ASEAN traditional craft villages will be held late this year with the participation of around 300 booths from domestic typical traditional craft villages.
The announcement was made at a meeting between the organising board, related organisations and vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tai.
The exhibition aims to introduce national cultural identity, create opportunities to exchange typical and cultural products of Vietnamese traditional craft villages as well as promote them to regional countries. The organising board will invite regional traditional craft villages to take part in the event and turn it to be an annual international traditional craft village exhibition.
Handicraft products are one of the 10 key national export items and are expected to reach US$1 billion in export value in 2005.
