US city to host Vietnam, US friendship photo exhibition (September 29, 2005)

An arts photo exhibition between Vietnamese and US artists to raise funds for Vietnam’s needy children is set to take place in San Jose, California Oct 23- Nov 6.

Nine Vietnamese artists are to make the journey, financed by the US-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and the not-for-profit organization -Creating Opportunities in Vietnam.

The artists are to display some 100 pieces of work, mostly on Vietnam and its people, which will be printed into a booklet for auction during the event, said Huynh Ngoc Dan, head of the Vietnamese delegation.

Eleven American artists, mostly of Vietnamese origin, are also to exhibit their works at the event.

“American and Vietnamese art photographers are on par in terms of technology, but they have an inventive choice of perspectives and expression,” Dan remarked.

The exhibited works will be on display at a later date in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

US-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce consist of number of companies, entrepreneurs, and professionals located in various cities in the US who are interested in developing business opportunities in the US and in Vietnam.
