Artist turns eye on beauty of women (November 26, 2006)

Life sucks: Me va Con (Mother and Son) by Pham Luc depicts the maternal love of Vietnamese women.
HA NOI ó Painter Pham Lucís exhibition, dedicated especially to Vietnamese women, has now opened itís doors to all visitors.

Pham Luc, who has been awarded many prizes in literature and art, had his exhibition organised by the collectors of his paintings.

The exhibited paintings, with a theme focused on the beauty of women, are the result of years and years of work with various materials, and are mostly of oil, lacquer and wood-engraving.

The exhibition also displays work by Ursula Reindell, a German female artist, who is an admirer of Lucís paintings and his artistic silent partner.

These two artists, from almost opposite ends of the world, have each produced their individual paintings in the traditional Vietnamese lacquer technique, while working side by side in Ha Noi.

This exhibition is the direct result of their mutual artistic co-operation.

The exhibition lasts until November 11 at 4 Le Phung Hieu Street, Ha Noi. ó VNS
