Twelve puppeteers from the Vietnam Puppet Theatre (VNPT) have given five performances for around 3,500 spectators at the recent Stage Performing Arts Festival in Kwaykeon, the Republic of Korea.
Their performances were video recorded by Kwaykeon Television.
The Vietnamese puppeteers also exchanged experiences in developing national stages with their colleagues from around 40 foreign participating delegations.
Earlier, six puppeteers from the VNPT and one artist from the Vietnam Song, Dance and Music Theatre made a performing tour of Hanover, Germany.
During their more than 100-day stay in Germany, they gave 128 water and 10 ground puppet performances for 10,000 people. They also performed two nights on the occasion of Viet Nam's 57th National Day (September 2) and at a get-together of ASEAN Ambassadors in Germany.
Meanwhile, the Northern Vietnam Folk Arts delegation performed in Brunei from September 24 to October 2 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Brunei diplomatic ties.
Speaking at the opening ceremony in Bandar Seri Begawan on September 27, Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Tien Vinh said he hoped that the delegation's performances together with the films and photo exhibitions on Vietnam would contribute to promoting mutual understanding and further development of friendship, solidarity and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Brunei.
The Brunei Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports spoke highly of the Vietnamese artists' eight-day tour performances, particularly Brunei traditional songs and music performed on Vietnamese traditional musical instruments.
