Artists join ASEAN Culture Week in Cambodia

Vietnam's 12-member art troupe are taking part in the ASEAN Culture Week starting in Cambodia on October 24.

The troupe includes artists from the Central Light Music Theatre and the Hanoi Fine Arts College.

At the Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province, artists coming from countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are giving performances under the theme 'Culture and Spirit.'

Dancers from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand are performing the traditional classical dance 'Ramayana' while those from Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore are performing their own national and contemporary dances.

On this occasion, Vietnamese painters Tran Hoang Son and Nguyen Van Chu of the Hanoi Fine Arts College are displaying their works under the title 'Daily Life' at the fine arts exhibition there and participate in creating paintings with the title Angkor.

The week also includes a cuisine festival and a national costume show. The show features 10 sets of costumes of Vietnamese ethnic minority groups.

In addition, film shows are being held at Angkor Wat Temple during the week, including Vietnam's films entitled 'Graceful Vietnam,' 'Vietnam-2002,' 'Vietnam - a Destination for Foreign Investors,' and 'Impressions of Cham Culture.' (VNA)
