Hoang Linh Chi has played her violin to audiences around the world, but tomorrow night will perform for her countrymen at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory.
The concert is set to open with Franz van Suppe's Light Cavalry Overture and Shubert's "Unfinished" Symphony No 8 in B minor, followed by Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D minor.
Linh Chi has been studying the violin since she was five and living in Hanoi.
At 14 she was selected to study in Moscow, and has recently completed a postgraduate course at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia.
She is a member of the international chamber orchestra Ensemble XXI-Moscow, and has performed in England, Austria, Finland, Switzerland, Hungary, Ireland, Estonia and Russia.
Every time she is at home, Chi performs for her country.
In 2000, Chi was awarded first prize at the International Violin Competition held by the Association of World Culture Heritage in Moscow in 2000, and the third prize at the 2001 Glazunov International Violin Competition in Paris. (VNS)
