'Bich cau ky ngo' wins first short film prize (September 07)

The closing ceremony of the Vietnam Short-film Festival 2003 was held in HCM City on the evening of September 2 with “Bich cau ky ngo” (The strange meeting at Bich Cau) directed by Nguyen Hoang Linh from the Feature Film Firm No.1 taking first prize.

Two second prizes were awarded to Vu Ngoc Dang’s Niem tin (The faith) and Nguyen My Khanh’s Bong (Burned). Both films hail from the HCM City College for Stage and Cinema.

Third prizes were presented to Le Buu Chung’s Xuat gia tong phu (Following her husband after marriage), Pham Phuong Linh’s Chan dung mot nguoi gia (Portrait of an old man), and Vu Phuong’s Kiep luan hoi (The cycle of birth and dead).

Encouragement prizes were awarded to six films, Dinh Van Vien’s Gio tren dong (Wind in the field), Chuyen hai chiec binh (The story of two vases) of Dam Minh Chi, Am ban (Negative proof) by Nhu Vu, Xu so ky la (Strange land) by Hong Cuong, Chuyen cua Lam (Lam’s story) by Ngo Quy Duong, and Chi oi (Hey, sister!) by Pham Mai Chi.
