ADB launches Art Competition for children (November 20, 2003)

VietNamNet - In line with celebrations of the 10th anniversary of resumption of operations in Vietnam, the Asian Development Bank and Vietnam Fine Arts Association will launch an art competition and exhibition for children aged 6 to 14 under the theme "Vietnam in 10 years: My vision".

The competition to be held throughout the country for children to express their views, dreams and wishes for Vietnam’s development in the next decade.

After the deadline on December 15, a panel of judges including members of the Fine Arts Association and ADB will select 100 winning artworks.

Selected works will be then be shown at the Fine Arts Association Gallery at 16 Ngo Quyen, Hanoi from January 16 to 27.

“I hope children from all over the country will participate in this competition, creating many quality artworks for the exhibition" said General Secretary of the Fine Art Associations Tran Khanh Chuong.

The ADB resumed its operations in Vietnam ten years ago. During this period, it has provided 48 loans and 141 technical assistance grants worth almost $2.8 billion. ADB operations have supported poverty reduction and rural development, educational projects, health services, infrastructure construction and policy reforms.
