VietNamNet – An installation exhibition and performances by Ly Hoang Ly, a Vietnamese poet, painter and performance artist, and Anida Yoeu Esguerra, a Cambodian-American writer and performance artist, will be held in HCM City on December 19.

The show, Pushing Through Borders, will take place at Green Space Gallery, 01A Le Thi Hong Gam, District 1.

The concept driving the organising of the exhibition dawned in March 2003, when Ly and Esguerra performed together in a programme under the Mekong project at the Dance Theatre Workshop in Thailand.

The exhibition will include three installations, with each placing an individual work, as well as a collaborative effort. They will also perform poems based on those installation works.

The performance has been carefully constructed to send the audience a message about the role of Asian women in Vietnam and the US, and find out the common ground between global and personal conceptions of the campaign requesting equality for women.
