Lao Cai illuminates Vietnamese culture and history (July 17, 2005)
 In the summer of 2000, I travelled to Lao Cai, the border province wherein is located the famous tourist site of Sa Pa.
Children’s publishing house builds on history of success (June 10, 2005)
 Established in 1957 during the anti-US resistance war, the Kim Dong Publishing House managed to overcome wartime difficulties to print good literary works for children such as the poetry collection Goc san va khoang troi (The playground corner and the sky) by Tran Dang Khoa and the novel Dat rung phuong Nam (Southern land and forest) by Doan Gioi.
Ancient stone tortoise discovered in Hue (June 02, 2005)
 An ancient stone tortoise, which is thought to date from the Nguyen Dynasty, has been found recently in the central Thua Thien – Hue province – the ancient imperial capital in 18th and 19th centuries.

 An exhibition on Vietnam and ASEAN traditional craft villages will be held late this year with the participation of around 300 booths from domestic typical traditional craft villages.

 The houses on stilts of different ethnic groups in Vietnam’s mountainous and mid-land regions have stood the test of time and have retained their original architecture over the centuries. Its unique structure reflects the people’s close bond between themselves and nature.
